Protection AutoExplained is a vehicle protection terminology reference website. Our only job is to explain what common vehicle damage words mean so that people can read their own documents and describe what happened to their vehicle accurately.
Our purpose
Damage vocabulary is where most confusion starts. The word collision usually points to an impact with another vehicle or object, while comprehensive usually points to damage that happens without a traffic impact, such as hail or theft. We write neutral explanations of those distinctions with no product to sell and no provider to recommend.
What we are not
